Upper Keys

Welcome To the Upper Keys

The northeastern most group of islands in the archipelago stretching from Key Largo to Lower Matecumbe Key, the Upper Keys are where the latitude begins to augment your attitude, and you’re thrust into a different world from the high energy of Miami. Surrounded by Florida Bay to its north and the Florida Straits to the south, the Upper Keys are rich with watersports offerings, including some of the best scuba diving and sportfishing around the globe. Back on land, Key Largo and Islamorada boast a myriad of decadent culinary offerings and endless bars running the gamut of casual to trendy.

Exploring the Upper Keys

Some of the most unique and beautiful flora and fauna exist both above and beneath the waves in the Upper Keys, exemplified by the protected John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, as well as Everglades National Park. Further down the chain of islands, you can find one of Florida’s only tropical hardwood hammocks on Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park or explore an early Indian settlement on Indian Key. Cruise the flats for backcountry trophies or delve into the deep blue out of Islamorada, “The Sportfishing Capital of the World.”
